I Hereby give notice that it has been certified to me in writing under the hands of two Members of the House of Commons, in the manner required by the Recess Elections Act 1975, that Roger Stott Esquire, Member of Parliament for the Constituency of Wigan, died on the Eighth day of August 1999. Accordingly, pursuant to the said Act, I shall issue my Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery to make out a New Writ for the Election of a Member to serve as Member of Parliament for the Constituency of Wigan in the place of the said Roger Stott Esquire, at the end of six days after the insertion of this notice in The London Gazette .
