UNIVERSITIES OF OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE ACT 1923

A Statute made by the Governing Body of Oriel College, in the University of Oxford, amending Statutes III, IV and IX, has been submitted for the approval of Her Majesty in Council, and notice of its having been submitted is published in accordance with the provisions of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Act 1923. The main purposes of the amendments are: (a) to bring the College Statutes into line with those of the University as a whole in respect of retiring ages; (b) to ensure that the Governing Body does not convert any Fixed Term, Non-Renewable Fellowship into a permanent or semi-permanent Fellowship, and to reinforce the contractual terms on which such Fellows are elected.
