NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that South East Water plc, of 3 Church Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH16 3NY, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from Darwell Reservoir, at National Grid Ref TQ 7150 2135, on the northern shore of Darwell Reservoir, 450 m WSW of the dam.
The proposal is to abstract water at the following maximum rates: 1,000 cubic metres per hour, 12,000 cubic metres per day and 2,920,000 cubic metres per year, between January and December inclusive, each year.
A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at (a) South East Water head office reception, 3 Church Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH16 3NY and (b) Battle Library, 7 Market Square, Battle, East Sussex TN33 0XB, between 17 April 2003 and 17 May 2003.
A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Wash Farm, Queen Street, Sible, Hedingham, between 21 March 2003 and 21 April 2003.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency Southern Region, Water Resources Technical & Regulatory Officer (Kent), Orchard House, Endeavour Park, London Road, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH, before the end of the said period quoting the name of the applicant.
