TRANSPORT AND WORKS ACT 1992
The Secretary of State for Transport gives notice pursuant to section 14(1)(b) of the Transport and Works Act 1992 (“the Act”) that he has determined under section 13(1) of the Act to make with modifications the Eden Valley Railway Order 2004 (“the Order”). The Order was applied for by the Eden Valley Railway Trust, 1 Victoria Road, Barnard Castle, County Durham DL12 8HW. The Order will authorise the transfer of approximately 9,300 metres of the existing Eden Valley branch railway between Appleby and Warcop in Eden, Cumbria. It also includes other non-works provisions including the transfer of the powers to operate and use the railway for the carriage of passengers and goods. Copies of the letter setting out the full terms of the Secretary of State’s decision may be obtained from the Transport and Works Act Orders Unit, Department for Transport, 9th Floor, Southside, 105 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6DT. Copies of the Order (once made) may be obtained from the Stationery Office Limited or through booksellers.
