The 2015 Dissolution honours list has been announced.

It’s customary for the prime minister to recommend new life peerages for some former MPs to the Queen at the end of a parliament.

Peerages for life have been conferred upon, among others, William Hague, Sir Menzies Campbell and David Blunkett.

Honours recipients include a knighthood for Vince Cable, and a damehood for Margaret Hodge.
