On 7 November 2015 The Gazette celebrated its 350 year anniversary as the oldest surviving English newspaper, and oldest continuously published newspaper in the UK. To mark this momentous anniversary, and the official public record’s documenting of history for 350 years, we are giving away a commemorative edition worth £70.commemorative edition

A commemorative edition can be your or a family member’s citation, or perhaps one of your favourite issues or supplements – the choice is yours. Choose from three different commemorative editions, which can be viewed here. Each edition is presented in its own box, and makes an ideal keepsake or gift.

To find out more about the type of memorable events The Gazette has documented over the years, visit our 350 years timeline. These events range from the Great Fire of London and the founding of the Bank of England, to the Battle of Waterloo and more recent events, such as the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and the birth of Princess Charlotte.

Citations for individuals can be found via specially created resources, such as World War 2 despatches or Victoria Crosses of 1915, or search the archives for a named individual's honour or award.
