Health of UK SMEs rises to an 18-month high

SME TeamThe health of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK has risen to its highest level in 18 months, the SME Health Check Index, a new quarterly economic index, has found.

The results also reveal an improved operating environment for Britain’s SMEs in the second quarter, aided by increased lending, a falling number of insolvencies and the virtual plateauing of business costs in Q2 of 2017.

This quarter’s increase follows a previous drop in the Index in Q1 of 2017.
