NOTICE OF A PROPOSED APPLICATION FOR A DEVELOPMENT CONSENT ORDER (“DCO”) TO CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE A WIND FARM AT NOCTON FEN, LINCOLNSHIRE
Notice is hereby given that Vattenfall Wind Power Ltd (the “Applicant”) of First Floor, 1 Tudor Street, London EC4Y 0AH proposes to apply to the National Infrastructure Directorate of the Planning Inspectorate (the “Directorate”) under Section 37 of the Planning Act 2008 for the above mentioned Development Consent Order (the “Application”).
The Application relates to the construction and operation of a wind farm of up to 20 turbines with a total installed capacity of up to 69MW and associated infrastructure at Nocton Fen, Lincolnshire (the “Project”).
The proposed DCO will, amongst other things, authorise the construction and operation of:
• Up to 20 wind turbines and their associated infrastructure including foundations, external transformers and crane pad hardstanding areas;
• A control building and substation compound;
• The construction of new site access tracks, including watercourse crossings, a track to connect the Project to the public highway, and the upgrade of existing onsite tracks;
• Construction and upgrade of site entrances
• A welfare building;
• Underground cabling between the wind turbines and the control building and substation compound;
• A meteorological mast;
• Temporary construction compounds;
• Underground cabling to connect the Project to the national grid electricity network;
• Works to the public highway and mitigation land;
• The permanent and compulsory acquisition of land and/or rights for the Project; and
• Such ancillary, incidental and consequential provisions, permits and consents as are necessary and/or convenient for the Project.
The Project is Environmental Impact Assessment development. Accordingly, the Applicant will be making preliminary environmental information available. A copy of the Preliminary Environmental Information (PEI) and PEI non-technical summary (NTS), along with other information which shows the nature and location of the proposed development, may be inspected free of charge at the following locations and during the hours set out below
