The Department has made a Statutory Rule entitled the “Gas (Designation of Pipelines) Order (Northern Ireland) 2019 which will come into operation on 4th February 2019.

This Statutory Rule designates the high pressure sections of new gas pipelines constructed as part of the 'Gas to the West' project for the purposes of ensuring that prices charged in gas bills for the conveyance of gas through such pipelines are in accordance with the common transmission tariff under Article 59 of the Energy (NI) Order 2003.

The new high pressure gas pipelines designated in the “Gas (Designation of Pipelines) Order (NI) 2019” run from Portadown to Dungannon, and from Dungannon to Tullykenneye near Fivemiletown, and are due to become operational in 2019.
