THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(A140 LONG STRATTON BYPASS) (CLASSIFIED ROAD) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2022 – THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
The Norfolk County Council (“the Council”) hereby give notice that they have made, and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation, an Order under Section 14 and Section 125 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the Council to:
(a) improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering),
(b) stop up highways,
(c) construct new highways,
(d) stop up private means of access to premises,
(e) provide new means of access to said premises
all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified road known as A140 Long Stratton Bypass which the Council are proposing to construct from a point on the A140 Ipswich Road 1230 metres south of its junction with U76180 Parkers Lane and extending northwards for a distance of 3,900 metres to connect with the A140 Norwich Road at the points of its junction with U76026 Church Lane
Copies of the Order and of the relevant plans may be inspected free of charge at all reasonable hours from 25th November 2022 at the offices of Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk NR1 2DH and at South Norfolk District Council, Thorpe Lodge, 1 Yarmouth Road, Norwich, NR7 0DU and at Long Stratton Town Pavilion, Manor Road Playing Fields, Manor Road, Long Stratton, NR15 2XR. Copies are also available through Norfolk County Council’s website www.norfolk.gov.uk/strattonbypass. Alternatively, hard copies can be sent by post free of charge upon request by contacting longstratton@norfolk.gov.uk.
ANY PERSON may not later than 20th January 2023 object to the confirmation of the Order by notice to the Secretary of State for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7AR stating the grounds of their objection. Please if possible also send a copy of the objection by e-mail to NATIONALCASEWORK@dft.gov.uk in addition to posting.
In submitting an objection it should be noted that your personal data and correspondence will be passed by the Secretary of State for Transport to the Council to enable your objection to be considered. Where the Order becomes the subject of Public Inquiry Procedures, all correspondence is copied to the Inspector conducting the Inquiry and will be kept in the Public Inquiry library, where it is publicly available. If you do not wish your personal data to be forwarded, please state your reasons when submitting your objection and the Secretary of State will copy your representations, with your name and address removed, to the Council and if there is to be a Public Local Inquiry they will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight as a result.
