THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (A140 LONG STRATTON BYPASS) (CLASSIFIED ROAD) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 2022

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that on 28 November 2023 he has confirmed, with modifications, the above Order which was made by Norfolk County Council under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980 and which, as confirmed, authorises the Council to –

(a) improve highways (including raising, lowering or otherwise altering),

(b) stop up highways,

(c) construct new highways,

(d) stop up private means of access to premises, and

(e) provide new means of access to premises

all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified road known as the A140 Long Stratton Bypass which the Council are proposing to construct from a point on the A140 Ipswich Road 1230 metres south of its junction with U76180 Parkers Lane and extending northwards for a distance of 3,900 metres to connect with the A140 Norwich Road at the points of its junction with U76026 Church Lane.

Copies of the above-mentioned Order and associated plans may be inspected at the offices of Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk NR1 2DH and at South Norfolk District Council, The Horizon Centre, Broadland Business Park, Peachman Way, Norwich, NR7 0WF and at Long Stratton Town Pavilion, Manor Road Playing Fields, Manor Road, Long Stratton, NR15 2XR. Copies are also available through Norfolk County Council’s website www.norfolk.gov.uk/strattonbypass. Alternatively, hard copies can be sent by post free of charge upon request by contacting longstratton@norfolk.gov.uk.

Any person aggrieved by or desiring to question the validity of any provision within the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement or regulation made has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks of 12 December 2023, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision included.
