NOTICES UNDER THE TRUSTEE ACT 1925
ARMITAGE BROTHERS PLC PENSION & LIFE ASSURANCE SCHEME
Notice is given, in accordance with Section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925, that the Trustee of the Armitage Brothers Plc Pension & Life Assurance Scheme (“the Scheme”) is intending to wind-up the Scheme and the benefits are being secured with an insurance company.
The Scheme has had several names over the years:
• The Armitage Brothers Limited Retirement Benefits and Life Assurance Scheme
• The Armitage Brothers Limited Superannuation Fund
The Trustee has recently issued communications to all members and beneficiaries currently receiving benefits or with a known entitlement to benefits under the Scheme and wishes to trace anyone else who thinks they have (or might have) a claim against the Scheme or an interest or entitlement to a benefit under the Scheme.
Therefore, the following persons are requested to write to the Trustee at the address given below:
(i) an employee or former employee of Armitage Pet Products Limited (or any other relevant employer who you believe participated in the Scheme) who believes that he/she was a member of the Scheme and who has not been recently contacted in respect of his/her membership of the Scheme;
(ii) any person who believes themselves to be a beneficiary of the Scheme as a widow, widower, civil partner, child, dependant or other beneficiary of a deceased member of the Scheme; and
(iii) Any other person who believes they have a claim against, or an interest in, the Scheme.
Any person who has or may have a claim, entitlement or interest in the Scheme is required to provide written particulars to the Trustee of the Scheme at the address given below as soon as possible after which benefits will be paid to the beneficiaries of the Scheme having regard only to the claims of which the Trustee has had notice. It is the intention of the Trustee to complete the winding up of the Scheme in the near future, after which the Trustee will not be liable to anyone of whose claim, demand, interest or entitlement they have not had notice.
Claimants’ particulars should include their full name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and either details of when they were members of the Scheme or the period of employment to which their claim relates (or where they are claiming as a widow, widower, civil partner, child, dependant or other beneficiary of a deceased member, the membership or employment details of said member).
Members of the Scheme and other beneficiaries with whom the Trustee or the Scheme’s administrators are already in contact need not respond to this notice since their interests have already been noted.
You must contact the Trustees within 2 months of the date of publication of this notice. You must therefore contact the Trustees by 31 July 2024.
