THE MERTON (PARKING PLACES) (W6) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the ‘Pedal Cycles Parking Places’ Order would be to designate a parking place on the carriageway at the locations specified in the Schedule to this notice for the leaving of pedal cycles (including electric assisted pedal cycles) being used in a public hire scheme operated in accordance with an agreement with the Council.

3. The general effect of the 'W6 Parking Places' Order would be to remove existing lengths of parking place in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice to accommodate the introduction of pedal cycle hire parking places.

4. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including a plan which indicates the length of road to which the Orders relate, can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

5. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment and Regeneration Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX, or alternatively e-mail trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/CYCLEHIRE, no later than 12 July 2024.

SCHEDULE

1. EDGE HILL, SW19; the north-east side, from a point 37.4 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of its junction with Ridgway south-eastward for a distance of 5 metres.

2. EDGE HILL, SW19; the south-west side, from a point 6.4 metres south-east of the eastern kerb-line of the north-western entrance of Edge Hill Court (leading to the Lodge and car park for Edge Hill Court) south-eastward for a distance of 5.7 metres.
