1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the 'Electric Vehicle Charging Points' Order would be to: -

(a) designate parking places for electric vehicle charging at the locations listed in Schedules 1 and 2 to this notice;

(b) provide that the parking places would operate at all times, unless otherwise stated;

(c) specify that the parking place listed in Schedule 1 to this notice would be available for fully electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles only, for up to 12 hours, without charge, provided that any electric vehicle is connected via a charging lead to a lamp column upgraded to enable electric charging at all times while it is left in that parking place. Electric vehicles having left a parking place for electric vehicle charging would be able to return after 4 hours have elapsed;

(c) specify that the parking places in controlled parking zones referred to in Schedule 2 to this notice would be available for fully electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles only, for up to 12 hours, provided that during controlled parking zone operational hours the applicable charge for the relevant controlled parking zone permit has been paid with respect to the vehicle and that any electric vehicle is connected via a charging lead to a lamp column upgraded to enable electric charging at all times while it is left in a parking place. Electric vehicles having left a parking place for electric vehicle charging would be able to return after 4 hours have elapsed.

3. The general effect of the 'Parking Places Amendment' Order would be to remove existing lengths of permit parking place in the lengths of road listed in Schedules 2 and 3 to this notice to accommodate the introduction of parking places designated for electric vehicle charging or pedal cycle hire.

4. The general effect of the ‘Pedal Cycles Parking Places’ Order would be to designate a parking place on the carriageway at the location specified in Schedule 3 to this notice for the leaving of pedal cycles (including electric assisted pedal cycles) being used in a public hire scheme operated in accordance with an agreement with the Council.

5. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which indicate the lengths of road to which the Orders relate can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden. 6. Any person desiring to comment on the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX, or alternatively by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/EV/2024/batch14A, no later than 19 July 2024.

BELGRAVE ROAD, CR4; the north-east side, from a point 10 metres north-west of its junction with Phipps Bridge Road, north-westward for a distance of 6 metres.

BELGRAVE WALK, CR4; the north-east side, from a point 1 metre south-east of a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 42 and 44 Belgrave Walk south-eastward for a distance of 6 metres.

BRANGWYN CRESCENT, SW19; the south side, from a point opposite the common boundary of Nos. 14 and 15 Landseer Close, westward for a distance of 6 metres.

MILES ROAD, CR4; the north-west side, from a point 5.5 metres south-west of the north-easternmost flank wall of No. 95 Miles Road (The Generator Business Centre) south-westward for a distance of 6 metres.

OAKWOOD AVENUE, CR4; the south-west side, from a point 10 metres south-east of the southern kerb-line of Hawthorne Avenue south-eastward for a distance 6 metres.

STEERS MEAD, CR4; the north-west side, from a point 21 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Turner Avenue south-westward for a distance of 6 metres.

YARBOROUGH ROAD, SW19; the south-west side, from a point 8 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Liberty Avenue north-westward for a distance of 5.5 metres.
