THE ISLINGTON (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO. 19) ORDER 2024

THE ISLINGTON (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 19) ORDER 2024

1) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington made the above-mentioned Orders on 4 July 2024 under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and of all other powers thereunto enabling.

2) The general effect of the Orders which will come into effect on 5 July 2024 would be to:

a) reduce the extent of the following parking places on Thorpedale Road to allow for the introduction of the pedestrian crossing described in article 1:

i) the resident parking place on the north-west side outside Nos. 14-40 by 18 metres, and the resident parking places on the south-east side opposite Nos. 14-40 by 20 metres.

ii) The shared-use parking place on the north-west side outside Elaine House by 21 metres, and the shared-use parking place on the south-east side opposite Elaine House by 19 metres.

b) Introduce no stopping at any time restrictions (zig-zag lines) leading up to the pedestrian crossing, both north-east and south-west of the crossing, the dimensions of which will be:

i) south-west of the crossing, from a point outside the common boundary of Nos. 35 and 37 Thorpedale Road, to a point 17 metres north-east of the same common boundary;

ii) north-east of the crossing, from a point 28.6 metres north-east of the north-eastern wall of No. 39 Thorpedale Road, to a point 11.6 metres north-east of the same wall.

3) A copy of the made Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection. 4) Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it or they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the High Court within six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made.
