THESSALY ROAD AND CAREY GARDENS

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF WANDSWORTH hereby gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to authorise the stopping up of the highway described in the First Schedule. 

  IF THE ORDER IS MADE, the stopping-up will be authorised to enable the development described in the Second Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 by the London Borough of Wandsworth on 5 January 2023 under local planning authority reference 2021/3661.

COPIES OF THE DRAFT ORDER AND RELEVANT PLAN MAY BE INSPECTED FREE OF CHARGE between 09:00 and 17:00 during a period of 28 days commencing on Thursday 11 July 2024 at Wandsworth Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU. 

Copies of the draft order and stopping up plan are also available to view at Battersea Park Library, 309 Battersea Park Road, SW11 4NF during the library’s opening hours.

ANY PERSON MAY OBJECT to the making of the proposed Order by writing to the Director of Environment and Community Services, London Borough of Wandsworth, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, SW18 2PU quoting reference 2021/3661. Any objection must be received by Thursday 8 August 2024. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.

THE FIRST SCHEDULE

Areas of Highway to be Stopped Up 

Land immediately to the south of Thessaly Road shown outlined in red and hatched black on Plan No. CDA-ZZ-ZZ-DR-A-00-0102, measuring 171.8 square metres, and a distance of 21.45m in a direction west to east at its longest point and a distance of 9.47m in a direction north to south at its widest point.

THE SECOND SCHEDULE

The Location

Site formerly known as the British Lion Public House, 55 Thessaly Road, SW8 4HR.

The Development

The development of the site comprising the erection of a five storey building comprising 17 flats (3 x 1-bedroom, 10 x 2-bedroom and 4 x 3-bedroom) with ancillary cycle storage and plant areas accommodated in a basement, and associated refuse storage and landscaping.
