THE ISLINGTON (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO. 20) ORDER 2024

THE ISLINGTON (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. 20) ORDER 2024

1) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington on 11 July 2024 made the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and of all other powers thereunto enabling.

2) The general effect of the Orders, which will come into effect on Friday 12 July 2024, would be to:

a) Reduce the extent of the resident permit holder bay on the south-west side of Turle Road outside No. 53 Tollington Park, to allow for the relocation of the bike hangar on Tollington Park opposite No. 92.

b) On the north-west side of Tollington Park:

i) Replace two resident permit parking places and a bike hangar (relocated as per 2(a)) with no waiting or loading at any time restrictions, north-east of its junction with Turle Road. The introduced no loading at any time restriction will extend up to Turle Road to a point 6.5 metres north-west of its junction with Tollington Park;

ii) Introduce no waiting or loading at any time restrictions from a point opposite a point 4 metres north-east of the common boundary of Nos. 98 and 100 Tollington Park up to the south-western extent of the shared use bay outside No. 59 Tollington Park.

iii) Reduce the extent of the shared use parking place outside No. 59 Tollington Park by 1.5 metres.

c) On the south-east side of Tollington Park:

i) Remove the three resident parking places outside Nos 102-106 Tollington Park and replace with at any time waiting and loading restrictions.

ii) Make the waiting restriction outside No. 106 Tollington Park apply at any time and additionally prohibit loading at all times;

iii) Make the waiting restriction outside Nos. 90-94 Tollington Park apply at any time and additionally prohibit loading at all times;

iv) Reduce the resident permit parking place outside Nos. 84-88 Tollington Park by 1 metre at its north-eastern extent, replacing the 1 metre with no waiting or loading at any time restrictions.

3) A copy of the made Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection. 4) Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provisions contained therein on the grounds that it or they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the High Court within six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made.
