ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE GLA ROADS AND GLA SIDE ROADS (TOWER HAMLETS) RED ROUTE CONSOLIDATION TRAFFIC ORDER 2008 THE A11, A1210 AND A13 (MANSELL STREET, MILE END ROAD AND COMMERCIAL ROAD) (E-SCOOTER BAYS) VARIATION ORDER 2024

1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above named Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general nature and effect of the Order will be to Introduce an at any time hireable e-scooter only bay:

(1) on the northern footway of the A11 Mile End Road between a point 2 metres east of the extended common boundary of Nos.69 to 79 and 81 Mile End Road and a point 15 metres westwards the bay will be 1.8 metres wide and will be located 9 metres south of the southern property boundary of Nos. 69 to 79 Mile End Road;

(2) on the eastern footway of the A1210 Mansell Street from a point 4.7 metres north of the northern kerb-line of the northern vehicular access to Royal Mint Court and a point 5 metres northwards the bay will be 1.8 metres wide and located at the back of the eastern footway of Mansell Street;

(3) on the eastern footway of the A1210 Mansell Street from a point 4.5 metres north-west of the extended south-eastern building line of the Sedgwick Centre, No.5 Whitechapel High Street and a point 5 metres north-westwards the bay will be 1.8 metres wide and will be located 0.5 of a metre from the eastern kerb-line of Mansell Street.

(4) on the eastern footway of the A1210 Mansell Street from a point 6 metres southwest of the extended northern building line of The Registry, No.3 Royal Mint Court to a point 5 metres south-westwards the bay will be 1.8 meters wide and will be located 0.5 of a metre from the eastern kerb-line of Mansell Street;

(5) on the north-eastern footway of the A13 Commercial Road from a point 15 metres north-west of the extended south-eastern building line of Central House No.61 Whitechapel High Street and a point 5 metres north-westwards the bay will be 1.5 metres wide and will be located 3.5 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Commercial Road.

3. The roads which would be affected by the Order are A11 Mile End Road, A1210 Mansell Street and A13 Commercial Road.

4. A copy of the Order, a statement of Transport for London’s reasons for the proposals, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected by visiting our website at https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/tro and selecting the relevant borough and reference the Traffic Order relates to or by appointment during normal office hours at our office at the address below. 5. All objections and other representations to the proposed Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. Objections and representations must be sent to Transport for London, Streets Traffic Order Team, Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ or by emailing trafficordersection@tfl.gov.uk quoting reference NMR/REGULATION/STOT/GK/TRO, GLA/2024/0376, to arrive before 22nd August 2024. Please note due to Hybrid working access to post is restricted and requests for documents and confirmation of your objections or representations may be delayed. Objections and other representations may be communicated to other persons who may be affected.
