ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE GLA ROADS (LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS) (BUS PRIORITY) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2009 A11 GLA ROAD (WHITECHAPEL ROAD AND MILE END ROAD) VARIATION ORDER 2024

THE GLA ROAD (LONDON BOROUGH OF TOWER HAMLETS) (BUS PRIORITY) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2009 A1205 GLA ROAD (BURDETT ROAD) VARIATION ORDER 2024

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that on 15th August 2024 it made the above named Orders, under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 23rd August 2024.

2. The general nature and effect of the Orders will be to:

(1) formalise the extents and operational hours of all existing bus lanes on Mile End Road and Whitechapel Road;

(2) formalise the removal of the southbound bus and pedal cycle only route on Grove Road at its junction with Mile End Road

(3) formalise the bus lane on the east side of Burdett Road between No.306 Burdett Road and 330 Burdett Road, operating At Any Time, permitting Buses, Dial-a-Ride Buses, Pedal Cycles, Solo Motorcycles and Taxis;

(4) formalise the bus lane on the west side of Burdett Road between No. 314 Burdett Road and a point opposite a point 12 metres north of the extend southern building line of No.306 Burdett Road, operating At Any Time, permitting Buses, Dial-a-Ride Buses, Pedal Cycles, Solo Motorcycles and Taxis;

3. The road which would be affected by the Orders are the A1205 GLA Road – Burdett Road and A11 GLA Road – Mile End Road and Whitechapel Road in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

4. A copy of the Orders, a statement of Transport for London’s reasons for the proposals and effect of the Order and copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected by visiting our website at https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/tro and selecting the relevant borough and reference the Traffic Order relates to or by appointment during normal office hours at our office at the address below. Please note due to hybrid working access to post is restricted and requests for documents may be delayed.

5. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
