ROAD TRAFFIC ACTS

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM (WAITING AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS) (CORNWALLIS ROAD AND HOBART ROAD, DAGENHAM) AMENDMENT NO. 133 ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in exercise of its powers under sections 6 and 124 and Parts I to IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended (hereinafter called “the Act”) and all other enabling legislation and powers and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act made the above Order, the effect of which will be to:

1. Replace the shared use ‘Payment Parking (TC2) Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm Max stay 4hrs No return within 2hrs/Permit Holders Only Zone STR Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ bays with a ‘No Waiting at any time’ restriction on Hobart Road, south-west side, opposite No’s 35 to 39 Hobart Road.

2. Replace the ‘Resident Permit Holders Only Zone STR Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ bays and ‘No waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ restrictions with ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions on Hobart Road, north-east side, outside No’s 35 to 39 Hobart Road.

3. Replace the ‘No waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ restrictions with ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions on Cornwallis Road, south-east side, from the common boundary of No’s 6 and 8 Cornwallis Road for 9 metres in a south-westerly direction.

4. Replace the ‘Resident Permit Holders Only Zone STR Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ bays with a ‘No Waiting at any time’ restriction on Cornwallis Road, south-east side, from the extended common boundary of No’s 6 and 8 Cornwallis Road for 3 metres in a north-easterly direction.

5. Revoke the shared use ‘Payment Parking (TC2) Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm Max stay 4hrs No return within 2hrs/Permit Holders Only Zone STR Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ bays on Cornwallis Road, north-west side between its junction with Parsloes Avenue and Hobart Road.

6. Revoke the ‘No waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ restriction on Cornwallis Road, north-west side, from a point 7.7 metres south-west of its junction with Hobart Road for 3.7 metres in a south-westerly direction.

7. Introduce a ‘No Waiting at any time’ restriction on Cornwallis Road, north-west side, from a point 1.5 metres south-west of the extended common boundary of No’s 8 and 10 Cornwallis Road for 15.8 metres in a south-westerly direction.

8. Replace the ‘Resident Permit Holders Only Zone STR Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ bay with a ‘No waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ restriction on:

a. Cornwallis Road, south-east side, from the south-western boundary of No 2 Cornwallis Road for 4.7 metres in a south-westerly direction

. b. Cornwallis Road, south-east side, from the common boundary of No’s 2 and 4 Cornwallis Road for 2.4 metres in a south-westerly direction.

c. Cornwallis Road, south-east side, from a point 3 metres north-east of the extended common boundary of No’s 6 and 8 Cornwallis Road for 8 metres in a north-easterly direction.

9. Introduce ‘Resident Permit Holders Only Zone STR Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ bays on Cornwallis Road, north-west side, from a point 11 metres north-east of its junction with Parsloes Avenue for 23 metres in a north-easterly direction.

10. Introduce a ‘Resident Permit Holders Only Zone STR Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm’ bay on Cornwallis Road, north-west side, from a point 8 metres south-west of its junction with Hobart Road for 6 metres in a south-westerly direction.

A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on Thursday 19 September 2024 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders are available to view for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published on the Councils website by visiting the following webpage https://www.lbbd.gov.uk/parking/parking-area and selecting ‘New and proposed traffic and parking schemes’ or available for inspection at the Adult Library, First Floor, Barking Learning Centre, Barking between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers of the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any Regulations under it have not been complied with may do so within six weeks of the made date of the Order by applying to the High Court.
