THE KING has been pleased to order a Congé d'Elire to pass the Great Seal of the Realm empowering the College of Canons of the Cathedral Church, Coventry, to elect a Bishop of the See of Coventry, the same being void by the resignation of the Right Reverend Christopher John Cocksworth, B.A., Ph.D., lately Bishop thereof; and His Majesty has been pleased to recommend to the said College of Canons the Right Reverend Sophie Rebecca Jelley, B.A., M.Phil., Bishop Suffragan of Doncaster, to be by them elected Bishop of the said See.
