PLANNING (LISTED BUILDINGS AND CONSERVATION AREAS) ACT 1990

THE KINGS GAP CONSERVATION AREA AND MANAGEMENT PLAN

Wirral Council hereby gives notice in accordance with Section 70 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Area) Act 1990 as amended, that on 23rd December 2024, boundary changes to The Kings Gap Conservation Area were confirmed. This followed a public consultation on the Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan earlier this year.

The boundary is extended to include the following addresses:

-1-38 KINGS COURT

-1-17 MARKET STREET

-ST LUKE'S METHODIST CHURCH

-2-63 CABLE ROAD

-1-68 QUEENS ROAD

-21 VALENTINA ROAD

-10 LIGHTHOUSE ROAD

A Conservation Area is an area of special architectural or historic interest, the character of appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance.

The main effects of being included within a Conservation Area are:

1. The Council has a duty to pay special attention to the desirability of preserving or enhancing the character and appearance of Conservation Areas;

2. Additional controls over demolition;

3. Notice mut be given to the Council before work can be carried out to trees within Conservation Areas;
