This notice is addressed to former and current members and beneficiaries of the pension scheme listed above.

A transfer of all members and benefits from the Reading Transport Staff Retirement Scheme to The Pensions Trust 2016 took place on 30 June 2024. Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 (as amended), that the Trustee of the Reading Transport Staff Retirement Scheme (the Scheme) is considering discharging the Scheme funds in relation to the defined benefits of the Scheme, following which the Scheme may be wound up. The Trustee wishes to trace any person who is or was a member of the Scheme or who has a claim against, or entitlement arising under, the Scheme.

Anyone (including, but not limited to, any former employees or agents of Reading Transport Limited) who believes that they may be entitled to benefits from the Scheme and has not already been contacted by the Trustee, should contact the Trustee as soon as possible. Please write to the Trustee at the address given below with full details of your claim and any benefits that you think you are entitled to, including your full name, address, date of birth, NI Number, dates of employment and copies of any relevant papers. This information must be received by the Trustee no later than 17 March 2025.

With effect from 1 July 2024 benefits previously built up in the Reading Transport Staff Retirement Scheme are being provided by The Pensions Trust 2016. If you have already received communications from The Pensions Trust 2016 or you are already receiving your benefits you do not need to respond to this notice.

Please be aware that although Reading Transport Limited has operated other pension schemes in the past and currently, this announcement only relates to the Reading Transport Staff Retirement Scheme.

After 17 March 2025, the Trustee and the Sponsoring Employer of the Scheme (Reading Transport Limited) may proceed to wind up the Scheme. The Trustee will not be liable to or in respect of any person whose claim, interest or entitlement under the Scheme had not been notified to the Trustee by 17 March 2025.

If the Trustee has already been in contact with you (for example, if you have received correspondence from the Trustee during the last 12 months), or you are currently receiving a pension from The Pensions Trust 2016, you do not need to reply to this notice as your interest has already been noted.
