NOTICE OF WORKS UNDER SECTION 14A OF THE LAND DRAINAGE ACT 1991

Leicestershire County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to exercise powers of entry (granted under Section 64 of the Land Drainage Act) to undertake critical flood risk alleviation work (under powers granted by Section 14A of the Land Drainage Act).

Proposal: The modification of the twin arch bridge structure, removal of the central arch and replacement of the existing deck with a new footbridge. To make good and restore the affected banks and channel bed, and the installation of appropriate bank protection measures.

Purpose: The replacement of the central arches and deck with a new structure will lead to a significant reduction in flood risk to neighbouring properties.

Site Address: Former farm access road and bridge crossing the Breedon Brook, to the south of Main Street, Breedon on the Hill.

Works will commence on Monday 3rd March 2025 and are expected to take up to 42 days to complete. The commencement date and period of works may be varied due to the weather or other circumstances. Unrestricted access to the site will be required for the duration of the works.
