The Fair Employment Tribunal (Remedies) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007
Notice is hereby given that the Department for Employment and Learning, being a Department designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to discrimination, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act, and of the powers conferred by Articles 39(7)(a) and 86(1) and (2) of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998, with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel in accordance with Article 86(1) of that Order, has made a Statutory Rule entitled the Fair Employment Tribunal (Remedies) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007 - S.R. 2007 No. 100 (“the Amendment Order”).
The Amendment Order amends the Fair Employment Tribunal (Remedies) Order (Northern Ireland) 1995 (“the 1995 Order”) to clarify that an award made by the Tribunal on which interest is calculated does not include an award in respect of costs, allowances or preparation time under the rules of procedure governing the Tribunal. In addition, the 1995 Order is amended to reflect the Tribunal’s power to deal with complaints of harassment as well as of discrimination.
Printed copies of the Order are available from The Stationery Office Bookshop ISBN 978-0337-96875-4 priced £3.00.
