NOTICE UNDER PARAGRAPH 8 OF SCHEDULE 16 TO THE ACT

Notice is hereby given that Century Building Society, Register No. 5B(S), whose principal office is at 21 Albany Street, Edinburgh EH1 3QW, desires to transfer its engagements to Scottish Building Society, Register No. 32B(S), and that each society has applied to the Financial Services Authority ( FSA ) to confirm the transfer.

Notice is hereby given that Scottish Building Society, Register No. 32B(S), whose principal office is at SBS House, 193 Dalry Road, Edinburgh EH11 2EF, desires to accept a transfer of the engagements of Century Building Society, Register No. 5B(S), and that each society has applied to the FSA to confirm the transfer.

Any interested party may make written representations to the FSA and/or give notice of intention to make oral representations to the FSA with respect to the application. Written representations or notices of a person’s intention to make oral representations at a hearing should be received by the Financial Services Authority, 12th Floor, Banks and Mutuals Department, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS, marked “Century/Scottish” or by e-mail to centurybs.representations@fsa.gov.uk on or before 14 December 2012. If notice is given of oral representations these will be heard by the FSA on 3 January 2013, at a time and place to be determined by the FSA.
