ENVIRONMENT (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 2002 PART III ARTICLE 12(1)

AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT ORDER

Newry and Mourne District Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Part III, Article 12(1) of the Environment (Northern Ireland) Order 2002, hereby makes the Newry (Canal Street) Air Quality Management Order 2013.

This Order came into effect on 18th April 2013

The area designated as an Air Quality Management Area (designated area) is displayed in map form and can be viewed by visiting the Public Display at the Council Offices, Monaghan Row, Newry, from the 22nd April 2013 to 31st May 2013.

The designated area incorporates residential properties abutting Canal Street between its junction with Chequer Hill and Barrack Street to the North and the junction with New Street to the South.

The area is designated in relation to a likely breach of the Particulate Matter (PM10) (daily mean) objective as specified in the Air Quality Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003.

This Order shall remain in force until it is varied or revoked by a subsequent order.

The Common Seal of Newry and Mourne District Council was hereto affixed to the Order on 18 April 2013.
