NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974, that the following applications have been made to SEPA by Scottish Water for consent to make the following discharges of sewage effluent from Eastriggs Waste Water Treatment Works, Eastriggs, Annan, to the Solway Firth at NGR NY 2426 6468

- Combined sewer overflow at the inlet chamber - when inflow exceeds 47.6 litres per second.
- Emergency overflow from the inlet chamber (in the event of pump failure).
- Emergency overflow from the storm tank (in the event of pump failure).
- Storm water overflow from the storm tank - when inflow exceeds 21 litres per second.
- Final effluent from the secondary treatment - up to 21 litres per second.

Any person who wishes to make representations about these applications should do so in writing to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, 5 Redwood Crescent, Peel Park, East Kilbride, Glasgow G74 5PP, not later than 11th March 2003, quoting reference numbers WPC/W/30925 & WPC/W/30926.

Copies of the applications may be inspected free of charge at the above address and at Rivers House, Irongray Road, Dumfries, at all reasonable hours.
