NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974, that the following applications for consent to discharge have been made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency by Scottish Water:

a) | A discharge of screened storm sewage consisting of all flows in excess of the pass forward flow of 40.3 litres per second up to a maximum flow of 1500 litres per second from a combined sewer overflow at a new sewage pumping station at the foreshore to the west of the boating club pier, Brodick to the Firth of Clyde at Brodick Bay, Isle of Arran at National Grid Reference NS 0186 3640. |
b) | A discharge of screened sewage up to a maximum flow of 1500 litres per second from an emergency overflow at a new sewage pumping station at the foreshore to the west of the boating club pier, Brodick to the Firth of Clyde at Brodick Bay, Isle of Arran at National Grid Reference NS 0186 3640. It should be noted that this proposed discharge of sewage is an emergency overflow and will occur only in the event of power failure or breakdown of the sewage pumping station. |

Up to 3741 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent from a new sewage treatment works at Market Road, Brodick, Isle of Arran to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 0292 3607.
Any person who wishes to make representations about any of these applications should do so in writing to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, 5 Redwood Crescent, Peel Park, East Kilbride, G74 5PP, not later than 29th July 2003, quoting the reference number. Representations made by the above date may be made available to any person if consent is given by the person making the representation. Representations should clearly state whether such consent is given.
Copies of the applications may be inspected free of charge at the above address, and at the SEPA District Office at 31 Miller Road, Ayr and at North Ayrshire Council Offices, Shore Road, Lamlash, Isle of Arran at all reasonable hours.
