NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (as amended), that the following applications for consent to discharge have been made to SEPA by Scottish Water:
Ref No: WPC/W/71952
Up to 14,256 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent from a new sewage treatment works at Quarter Farm, Largs to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 21938200 66240039.
Ref No: WPC/W/71953
Up to 51,840 cubic metres per day of storm sewage from a combined sewer overflow at Buchanan Street Pumping Station, Largs to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 21962540 66039410.
Ref No: WPC/W/72178
Up to 73,440 cubic metres of sewage from an emergency overflow at Buchanan Street Pumping Station, Largs to the Noddsdale Water at National Grid Reference NS 21989251 66045694.*
* It should be noted that this proposed discharge of sewage is an emergency discharge and will only occur in the event of power failure or breakdown of the sewage pumping station.
Any person who wishes to make representations about any of the applications should do so in writing to The Registrar, SEPA, 5 Redwood Crescent, Peel Park, East Kilbride G74 5PP, not later than 25 January 2005, quoting the appropriate reference number.
Copies of the applications may be inspected, free of charge, at the above offices of SEPA during normal business hours, and by prior arrangement at the local SEPA office at 31 Miller Road, Ayr (Tel No 01292 294000).
