The Queen has been pleased by Warrant bearing date 28 March 2007 to direct the issue of a Commission under the Great Seal appointed to be kept and made use of in place of the Great Seal of Scotland appointing Captain the Honourable Gerald Edward Ian Maitland-Carew, to be Lord Lieutenant for the Area of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale.
