COAST PROTECTION ACT 1949
NOTICE OF PROPOSED COAST PROTECTION WORK
The Council hereby gives notice under section 5(1) of the above Act that they proposed to carry out coast protection work at Craigston, Barra.
The work will consist of a composite solution comprising sections of rock armour, Anti-erosion mattress or reno-mattress and gabion baskets to provide protection to the A888 north of Traigh Tuath between Grid References NF665021 and NF656025.
Further details of the above projects are available for viewing at the Comhairle nan Eileen Siar offices at Castlebay and Stornoway, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
The estimated cost of the work is £ 900,000
Any person may serve written notice of objection to the proposal before 23rd August 2007 on the Scottish Ministers and the Council by addressing the notices of objection to the Flooding, Erosion and Reservoirs Team, Scottish Executive, Mailpoint 3, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ and to the Chief Executive of the Comhairle nan Eileen Siar, Sandwick Road, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2BW respectively.
