ROADS (SCOTLAND) ACT 1984

THE A75 TRUNK ROAD (HARDGROVE TO KINMOUNT IMPROVEMENT) (TRUNKING AND DETRUNKING) ORDER 200[ ]

THE A75 TRUNK ROAD (HARDGROVE TO KINMOUNT IMPROVEMENT) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 200[ ]

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS hereby give notice that they propose to make the following Orders in connection with the improvement of the A75 Gretna – Dumfries – Stranraer Trunk Road between Hardgrove and Kinmount:

1. The A75 Trunk Road (Hardgrove to Kinmount Improvement) (Trunking and Detrunking) Order 200[ ] under section 5(2) and (6) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to provide for the construction of new lengths of trunk road to form part of the A75 Gretna – Dumfries – Stranraer Trunk Road and the detrunking of a superseded section of trunk road; and

2. The A75 Trunk Road (Hardgrove to Kinmount Improvement) (Side Roads) Order 200[ ], under sections 12(1) and (5) and 70(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, to provide for the construction of new side roads; the improvement of lengths of existing road to form new and improved connections in relation to the trunk road; the stopping up of various existing lengths of road and private accesses; and the provision of certain new means of access.

COPIES of the draft Orders together with the relevant plans may be inspected, free of charge, during normal business hours from 27th June 2008 until 8th August 2008 at the offices of Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, Reception, 9th Floor, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow G4 0HF; Dumfries & Galloway Council, Council Offices, Kirkbank House, English Street Dumfries DG1 2HS; and Georgetown Library, Gillbrae Road, Dumfries.

ANY PERSON may object to the making of these Orders, by notice in writing, to the Director of Major Transport Infrastructure Services, Transport Scotland, Design Team 1, Mailpoint 14, 7th Floor North, Buchanan House, Glasgow G4 0HF, stating the title of the Order and the grounds of objection. Any such notice must be received on or before 8th August 2008.

A75 TRUNK ROAD HARDGROVE TO KINMOUNT IMPROVEMENT

ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS, as the relevant roads authority, are considering implementing the following project. The A75 Trunk Road Hardgrove to Kinmount Improvement is a proposed new road and road improvement project including the following:

1. The A75 Trunk Road (Hardgrove to Kinmount Improvement) (Trunking and Detrunking) Order 200[ ] under section 5(2) and (6) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 to provide for the construction of new lengths of trunk road to form part of the A75 Gretna – Dumfries – Stranraer Trunk Road and the detrunking of a superseded section of trunk road; and

2. The A75 Trunk Road (Hardgrove to Kinmount Improvement)(Side Roads) Order 200[ ], under sections 12(1) and (5) and 70(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, the general effect of which will be to provide for new lengths of side road; the improvement of existing lengths of road; the stopping up of various existing roads; the stopping up of various private means of access; and the provision of certain new means of access.

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS, give notice that the project is subject to the environmental impact assessment procedure prescribed by sections 20A and 55A of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 as amended and they have prepared an Environmental Statement in accordance with the provisions of that Act as amended.

A COPY of the Environmental Statement may be inspected, free of charge, during normal business hours from 27th June 2008 until 8th August 2008 at:

The offices of Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, Reception, 9th Floor, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow between 08.45 and 17.00 (Mon – Thu) and 08.30 – 16.30 (Fri);

The offices of Dumfries & Galloway Council, Kirkbank House, English Street, Dumfries DG1 2HS between 08.45 and 16.45 (Mon – Fri); and

Georgetown Library, Gillbrae Road, Dumfries between 14.00 – 19.30 (Mon), 10.00 – 19.30 (Tue, Wed and Fri) 10.00 – 17.00 (Thu) and 10.00 – 13.00 then 14.00-17.00 (Sat).

COPIES of the Environmental Statement can also be obtained from Transport Scotland, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow G4 0HF at a charge of £150 for a hard copy or £10 for the CD. Requests for further information about the project may be sent to the same address.

A COPY of the Environmental Statement is also available for inspection on Transport Scotland’s website at www.transportscotland.gov.uk

ANY PERSON wishing to make representations about the project and the Environmental Statement may do so, in writing, to the The Director of Major Transport Infrastructure Projects, Transport Scotland, Design Team 1, Mailpoint 14, 7th Floor North, Buchanan House, 58 Port Dundas Road, Glasgow G4 0HF quoting reference RYC/DG11/1. Any such representations must be received by 8th August 2008.

THE SCOTTISH MINISTERS will take into consideration any representations so made before deciding whether or not to proceed with the project with or without modifications.

NOTICE OF DETERMINATION

The A75 Trunk Road Hardgrove to Kinmount: Environmental Impact Assessment Determination by the Scottish Ministers under Sections 20A and 55A of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have determined that their proposal to undertake the A75 Trunk Road (Hardgrove to Kinmount) Improvement is a relevant project within the meaning of Sections 20A and 55A of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 as amended and does require an Environmental Statement.
