NOTICE UNDER PARAGRAPH 8 OF SCHEDULE 16 TO THE ACT

Notice is hereby given that Chelsea Building Society, Register No. 707B, whose principal office is at Thirlestaine Hall, Thirlestaine Road, Cheltenham GL53 7AL, desires to transfer its engagements to Yorkshire Building Society, Register No. 66B, and that each society has applied to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to confirm the transfer.

Notice is hereby given that Yorkshire Building Society, Register No. 66B, whose principal office is at Yorkshire House, Yorkshire Drive, Bradford BD5 8LJ, desires to accept a transfer of the engagements of Chelsea Building Society, Register No. 707B, and that each society has applied to the FSA to confirm the transfer.

Any interested party may make written representations to the FSA and/or give notice of intention to make oral representations to the FSA with respect to the application. Written representations or notice of a person’s intention to make oral representations at the hearing must be received by the FSA at the Financial Services Authority, 11th Floor, RFD, Building Societies Department, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS or by email to c-ybsrepresentations@fsa.gov.uk by 15 February 2010. If notice is given of oral representations these will be heard by the FSA on 1 March 2010, at a time and place to be determined by the FSA.
