NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (as amended), that Scottish Water have submitted the following applications for consent to discharge effluent.

SEPA application reference no. WPC/N/0070777.

Discharge of trade effluent to the Golspie Burn, for a temporary period, as a result of commissioning of a new water treatment works at Backies, Golpsie.

SEPA application reference no. WPC/N/0070778.

Modification of the existing treated sewage effluent discharge from Golspie sewage treatment works, as a result of adding a proposed, permanent, trade effluent discharge from the new water treatment works at Backies to the existing sewage system.

SEPA application reference no. WPC/N/0070779.

Modification of an existing storm sewage effluent discharge at Golspie Main sewage pumping station, as a result of adding a proposed, permanent, trade effluent discharge from the new water treatment works at Backies to the existing sewage system.

Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to The Registrar, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Graesser House, Fodderty Way, Dingwall, IV15 9XB, not later than 10th June 2003 quoting reference WPC/N/0070777, WPC/N/0070778 & WPC/N/0070779.

A copy of the application may be inspected free of charge, at the above address and at the Highland Council Service Point, Main Street, Golspie, KW10 6RB
