Waiting Restrictions—Tennison Road

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. X) Order 199X under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   2. The general effect of the Order would be to further amend the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991 so that waiting by vehicles would be prohibited at any time throughout the week in Tennison Road, between the common boundary of Nos. 87 and 89 Tennison Road and the north-western kerb-line of Davidson Road.   3. The prohibition referred to in paragraph 2 above would not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the directon of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g. the picking up or setting down of passengers, the carrying out of statutory powers or duties, the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations, to licensed street traders, etc.   4. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the proposed Waiting and Loading Restriction relates can be inspected until the expiration of a period of 21 days from the date on which this notice is published during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.   5. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon, on 0181-686-4433 extension 3879.   6. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Public Services and Works Department, Room 4.06, Munipical Offices, Fell Road, Croydon, quoting reference T&P/JAA/WL/TR within the aforementioned period of 21 days.   7. The Councillors of this Ward are Brian Finegan and Tony Newman.   8. The proposed Order is intended to introduce “At Any Time” waiting restrictions in Tennison Road, South Norwood to remove obstructive parking and reduce accident potential in the vicinity with Davidson Road and improving visibility on the approaches to the railway bridge.
