Form of Application for a Generating Licence

1. Full name of applicant:   Coryton Energy Company, Ltd. 2. Address of the applicant, or in the case of a body corporate, the registered or principal office:   20 St. James’s Street, London SW1A 1ES. 3. Where the applicant is a Company, the full names of the current Directors and the Company’s registered number:   Carlos A. Riva.   Michael Hogan.   George Grant.   David MacMillan.   Company Number: FC20597. 4. Where a holding of 20 per cent or more of the shares of an applicant is held by a body corporate or partnership or an unincorporated association carrying on a trade of business, with or without a view to profit, the name(s) and address(es) of the holder(s) of such shares shall be provided:   Initial authorised share capital US$40,000, comprising 4,000,000 ordinary shares of US$0.01 nominal par value each, divided into 2,000,000 Share Class A Stock (voting), 2,000,000 Share Class B Stock (non-voting). Shareholders/Shares issued: 500 shares Class A Stock owned by Coryton Generating Company, Ltd, 500 shares Class B Stock owned by Coryton Generating Company, Ltd. 5. Desired date from which the licence is to take effect:   January 1998. 6. The number of generating stations intended to be operated under the licence (if granted):   One, but the applicant reserves the right to operate further stations if requisite. 7. A sufficient description adequately specifying the actual or proposed location of the station. Description of proposed location must be sufficient to make clear the nature and extent of the proposed development:   The station will be located at The Manorway, Coryton, Essex, adjacent to the BP Refinery. (Grid Ref. TQ 742 823.) 8. A description of how the station will be fuelled or driven:   The plant currently proposed is a combined cycle gas turbine plant of about 750MW. As presently proposed, components of the plant will include two gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators, a steam turbine and condenser. Gas will be supplied to the plant via a dedicated spur line approximately 7.6 kilometres long running from the BG National Transmission system. The plant will have dual fuel capability and will be able to burn gas-oil at consented times. 9. The date when any proposed generating station is expected to be commissioned:   1st June 1999. 10. The capacity and type of each unit within the generating station (MW):   The power station will consist of two (2) gas turbine generators, with a nominal capacity of 250MW each. The steam turbine will have a nominal capacity of 250MW. 11. A statement of the extent (if any) to which the applicant considers it necessary for powers under Schedule 3 (compulsory acquisition of land etc.) and under Schedule 4 (other powers etc.) to the Act to be given through the licence for which he is applying:   The powers under Schedule 3 and Schedule 4 of the Act are considered necessary for this project. 12. Details of any licences held, applied for, or being applied for, by the applicant in respect of the generation, transmission, or supply of electricity:   None.   A map showing the location of the facility is available for viewing on any working day between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the regional office of the Office of Electricity Regulation, 4th Floor, Waveney House, Handford Road, Ipswich IP1 2BJ.
