Hertford Road, Edmonton—Relocation of Two Bus Stop Clearways

Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Traffic Engineering Group, telephone number 0181-366 6565 extension 3889 or 3558.   Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield proposes to make the Enfield (Restriction of Waiting on Bus Stops) (Special Parking Area) (No. 1, 1997) (Amendment No.   ) Traffic Order 199   under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Road Traffic Act 1991.   The general effect of the Order would be to amend the Enfield (Restriction of Waiting on Bus Stops) (Special Parking Area) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1997, so that the restrictions on waiting by vehicles imposed by that Order which apply in the lengths of Hertford Road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice would cease to apply thereto and instead, that such restrictions as imposed by that Order would apply at any time throughout the week to the relocated bus stops sited within the lengths of Hertford Road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice.   A copy of the proposed Order, of a map indicating the location and effect of the proposed Order, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of the Enfield (Restriction of Waiting on Bus Stops) (Special Parking Area) (No. 1) Order 1997 (and of the Orders which have previously amended that Order) can be inspected at the Reception Desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.   Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order, or make any other representations, should send a statement in writing to that effect, and in the case of an objection stating the grounds thereof, to the Borough Engineer, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, quoting Ref. T/TG52/621, by 11th February 1998.   Under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, many of the reports made to a Committee of the Council are open to the press and to the public. When this happens any documents used to a material extent in compiling the report are also open to inspection. This means that any letter you write to the Council in response to this notice may be available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they wish. P. Hertford Road, Edmonton:   (a) the north-west side, from a point 95 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Monmouth Road south-westward for a distance of 19 metres;   (b) the south-east side, from a point 15 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Monmouth Road south-westward for a distance of 19 metres.

Schedule 2

Bus Stop Clearway—At Any Time Throughout the Week

Hertford Road, Edmonton:   (a) the north-west side, from a point 59 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Monmouth Road south-westward for a distance of 25 metres;   (b) the south-east side, from a point 126.5 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Monmouth Road south-westward for a distance of 25 metres. 21st January 1998.
