Parking Amendments
Notice is hereby given that the Westminster City Council on 21st January 1998, made
the above-mentioned Orders under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule
9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The general effect of the Parking Place Orders will be to convert certain metered
parking places to ticket metered (pay and display) parking places in the following
streets:
Abercorn Place, Adam Street, Adelphi Terrace, Chandos Street, Kean Street, New
Cavendish Street, Northumberland Avenue, Nugent Terrace, Pall Mall, Queen Anne Street,
Southampton Street, Tothill Street, Wimpole Street.
The proposal to convert a metered parking place to a ticket metered (pay and display)
parking place in Victoria Embankment has been withdrawn
The classes of vehicles for which the parking places will be available, the hours
during which they will operate and all time limits during which vehicles may be left
in those parking places will remain the same as for other similar parking places in
the immediate vicinity.
The Orders will come into force for all purposes on 2nd March 1998.
Copies of the made Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars
of the Orders can be inspected betweeen 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays
until 6th March 1998, in One Stop Services, City of Westminster, 64 Victoria Street,
London SW1E 6QP.
Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision
contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof
or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation
to the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the High Court by 6th March
1998.
