Stopping-up of a Highway at Cheadle, Stockport
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that on the application of
Brabner Holden Banks Wilson, on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Rudkin, he has made an
Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (Metropolitan
Borough of Stockport) (No. 1) Order 1998”, authorising the stopping-up of part of
the southerly side of High Street, Cheadle, being part of the footway fronting No.
37 High Street.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government
Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester
M1 4BE, (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5086/35/1/23), and may be inspected at all reasonable
hours at the Inquiry Desk, Town Hall, Stockport, and at the Literary Institute, Cheadle
Green, Stockport SK8 2BD.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof,
or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers
of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder
has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of 28th January
1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any
provision contained therein.
