TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of two lengths of all purpose highway at Weston Road, Stevenage, Hertfordshire. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to CCB Stevenage Limited, William Sutton Trust and St. Pancras Housing Group, by Stevenage Borough Council on 19th March 1996 and amended on 22nd July 1997, under Ref. 2/0412/95/RM. The proposed Order will require an improvement of Weston Road and the provision of a new bridleway with right of way on foot maintainable at the public expense for which Hertfordshire County Council will be the local highway authority. The proposed Order will provide that the improved highway and the new bridleway with right of way on foot shall be provided by CCB Stevenage Limited, William Sutton Trust and St. Pancras Housing Group, before the development is completed and that the improved highway and new bridleway with right of way on foot stopping-up shall be a highway maintainable at the public expense for which Hertfordshire County Council will be the local highway authority. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 30th January 1998, at the offices of Stevenage Borough Council, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, and at the address of the Clerk to Graveley Parish Council, 1 Hillside Cottage, Church Lane, Graveley, near Hitchin, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport) (quoting Ref. GT/K1935/35/1/16), at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 30th January 1998, by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be imparted to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
