TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (county of Tyne and Wear) (No. 2) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of lengths of highway at Monks Park Way, Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne, to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted to J. Hollingsworth (Manager), Building Design Agency, acting on behalf of Nomad Housing Group Ltd., by North Tyneside Council, on 26th August 1997, under Ref. NT/97/01009/FUL. Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Director Planning, Environment and Transport, Government Office for the North East, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD (quoting Ref. GO-NE/97/5038/35/16) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of the North Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council, 14 Northumberland Square, North Shields NE30 1PZ. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or that any requirement of that Act, or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 5th February 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Extinguishment of parts of adopted highway at land and buildings situated at Monks Park Way, Pennine Way and Blackfriars Way, Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne.
