Notice of Designation of Conservation Area
Ranscombe Farm, Wootton Courtenay

Notice is hereby given that the Exmoor National Park Authority has resolved to designate Ranscombe Farm, Wootton Courtenay, as a Conservation Area, with effect from 26th January 1998. The designation involves certain additional planning responsibilities:   Control of the demolition of most buildings;   Prior consent of the National Park Authority is required to fell, lop, top or uproot any tree;   Consent is required to display certain types of illuminated adverts;   Planning applications within the Conservation Area must be given special publicity.   The Local Planning Authority has a duty to formulate and publish proposals for the preservation and enhancement of the Conservation Area.   Further details of these additional planning controls and a map of the Conservation Area boundary can be obtained from the Historic Buildings Officer, Exmoor National Park Authority (telephone number: 01398 323665).
