Highways Act 1980, Section 116

Notice of Application to stop up highway to the rear of properties formerly known as 36-20 Johnson Street, extending to the rear of former property 54 Park Road, St. Helens. Notice is hereby given that St. Helens Borough Council intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Corporation Street, St. Helens, on Tuesday, 24th March 1998, at 2.15 p.m., for an Order under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that the highway mentioned in the Schedule hereto be authorised to be stopped up on the ground that it is unnecessary.   A plan showing the highway proposed to be stopped up may be inspected, free of charge, at my office at the Town Hall, St. Helens, during normal office hours.   Any person to whom this notice has been given or who uses the said highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the said Order may attend and be heard on the application.   That highway to the rear of properties formerly known as 36 to 20 Johnson Street, commencing at the south-easterly corner of the property formerly known as 36 Johnson Street, and extending a distance of approximately 70 metres in a north-westerly direction for a width of approximately 3 metres.
