Stopping-up of a Highway at Middleton, Rochdale

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale) (No. 1) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of part of unnamed highway adjacent to the southerly side of the Arndale Centre at Middleton.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE, (quoting reference GO/TNW 5084/35/1/36) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the Information Centre, Sadler Street, Middleton, and at the Town Hall, Rochdale.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 19th February 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
