Notice of intention to Adopt and of the Proposed Modifications to Proposals for the Merthyr Tydfil Borough Local Plan
Representations Period 6th March to 17th April 1998

The local inquiry into the local plan proposals has been held and the report of the Inspector has been considered by the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council who now propose to modify the plan proposals.   The Council is publishing a modifications statement which includes a list of the proposed modifications (other than modifications which the Council are satisfied will not materially affect the content of the plan proposals), together with the Council’s reasons for proposing the modifications. In addition, a list of the recommendations, which the Council do not intend to accept, is also included within the modifications statement.   Copies of the deposited modifications statement together with the deposit local plan proposals and Inspectors report are available for inspection at the following locations, free of charge, during normal office hours:   The Planning Department, Ty Keir hardie, Riverside Court, Merthyr Tydfil   Merthyr Central Library, High Street, Merthyr Tydfil   Dowlais Library, Upper Union Street, Dowlais   Treharris Library, Perrott Street, Treharris   Cefn Coed Library, Brewery Lane, Cefn Coed   Troedyrihw Library, Tyntaldwyn Road, Troedyrhiw.   Objections to and representations in respect of the proposed modifications should be sent in writing to reach the Planning Manager at the address below no later than the end of the 6 week representations period.   M. Boaden, Planning Manager, Directorate of Technical Services, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, Ty Keir Hardie, Riverside Court, Avenue De Clichy, Merthyr Tydfil CF47 8XF.   Objections and representations should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made, and may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specific address of the withdrawal, adoption, approval or rejection of the proposals. All objections and representations will be made available for public inspection and cannot be treated as confidential. At this stage, objections cannot relate to the content of the original plan but can relate to a proposed modification or the fact that the Council have not proposed a modification recommended by the Inspector. If no objections are received during the period given for making objections the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council intend to adopt the Local Plan on the expiry of that period.   Copies of the modifications statement are also available from the Planning Department in Ty Keir Hardie, Riverside Court, Merthyr Tydfil or by mail order at a cost of £10 inclusive of post and packaging. Cheques should be made payable to the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council.
