The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Essex) (No. 3) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, hereby gives notice that, on the application of Countryside Properties, he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Essex) (No. 3) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of three areas of highway verge at St. Nicholas Lane/High Road, Laindon, Essex, to enable development consisting of residential development, 554 dwelling houses, associated roads, footpaths and landscaping to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Act to Countryside Properties by Basildon District Council, on 18th August 1994, under Ref. BAS/463/94.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Room 135, Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL, (quoting GT/V1505/35/1/08) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Basildon District Council, Basildon Centre, Pagel Mead, Basildon, Essex SS14 1DL.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of 6th March 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
