The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Cambridgeshire) (No. 2) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that, on the application of Cambridgeshire County Council he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Cambridgeshire) (No. 2) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of highway land at Haviland Way, Cambridge, to enable development consisting of the erection of a residential centre to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Act to and by Cambridgeshire County Council on 19th September 1997 under Ref. C/0528/97.   The Order requires the improvement of highway and new highway which shall be a footway maintainable at public expense for which Cambridgeshire County Council will be the Highway Authority.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL (quoting GT/G0500/35/1/06) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Cambridge City Council, The Guildhall, Cambridge CB2 3QD.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 20th March 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
