ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

The Essex County Council (Various Streets, Rochford) (Street Parking Places, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Restriction of Loading and Unloading) Order 1998. Notice is hereby given that, on 23rd March 1998, the Essex County Council made the above Order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.   The effect of the Order will be to vary the existing Order so as to introduce no waiting between the hours of 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday (inclusive) as detailed in The London Gazette on 12th September 1996 (issue No. 54523, notice No. 497).   There is a change in that Brayers Mews was incorrectly described as Brayners Mead.   The new Order will revoke the Essex County Council (Various Streets, Rochford) (Street Parking Places, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Restriction of Loading and Unloading) (Consolidation) Order 1995. However, the provisions contained in that Order are not mentioned above will remain in force unchanged by virtue of the new Order.   Exemptions in the Order will permit waiting for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers, loading and unloading as applicable and, where necessary, in connection with the statutory undertakers’ duties and emergency service vehicles.   The Order will come into operation on 27th March 1998.   A copy of the Order, together with a map, may be examined during normal office hours at County Hall, Chelmsford.   Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from the date of the making of the Order, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
