Planning (Listed Building and Conservation Areas) Act 1990

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the District of West Lancashire has conducted a review of some of its Conservation Areas and has determined that the boundaries of the following Conservation Areas should be varied under section 70(8) of the above Act:   Granville Park Conservation Area, Aughton; Junction Lane Conservation Area, Burscough; Ashfield Terrace Conservation Area, Appley Bridge.   At Granville Park Conservation Area, Aughton, the Council has decided to vary the boundary of the Conservation Area by including two additional areas. The first is on the south-west side of Winifred Lane including a group of buildings based on Lime Tree Farm, the second is on the east side of the railway line to the south of the existing conservation area and includes a group of semi-detached late Victorian Villas.   At Ashfield Terrace Conservation Area, Appley Bridge, the Council will vary the boundary by making two alterations, one addition and one deletion. The deletion is a small area of land on the north-eastern edge of the Area which now provides access to an industrial premises and the addition of a small area of woodland at the eastern edge of Ashfield Terrace will be included within the Area boundary.   At Junction Lane Conservation Area, Burscough, the Council will vary the boundary by including two additional areas, one to the south-east side of 29 Junction Lane (Junction Hotel) and the other, land to the north-west of Glenroyd Drive to include three pairs of semi-detached Victorian Villas, a detached house with a terracotta turret and sun dial and the War Memorial in a small park.   Plans showing the new boundaries of all three Conservation Areas may be inspected during normal office hours at West Lancashire District Council Planning Department, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk.
